We know that learning how to rhyme is an important skill for our early readers, so why not make rhyming even more fun with hands-on activities like these free Fall Leaf Rhyming Clip Cards? They are quick prep, fun, and strengthen both rhyming skills and fine motor skills, too!

Fall Leaf Rhyming Clip Cards
We love clip cards because they help kids strengthen finger muscles as they open and close the clothespins. At the same time, they are building important math and literacy skills.
These rhyming clip cards have a fun autumn theme and are super easy to prep! Simply laminate them and cut the cards out on the solid black lines. Add some clothespins and you’re ready to play!

How to Play
Kids will pick a card and then decide which of the two pictures on the bottom of the card rhyme with the picture on the leaf.
Having only two choices to pick from allows even our youngest learners to gain confidence and feel successful. They aren’t overwhelmed with choice, yet still have a challenge in front of them.
After they decide which picture rhymes, they use a clothespin to clip the answer.
Teacher Tip: Make this activity self-correcting by placing a sticker or dot on the back of the correct rhyme. If you do this, I would recommend printing the cards on cardstock so that they are not see-through at all.
However you choose to use the clip cards, your kids will have tons of fun rhyming and clipping!
