Fall Sensory Bin and Printables

This time of year gives me all the warm and fuzzy Fall feels, so I’m excited to carry this over into our sensory bins!

While our shiny black beans are my absolute favorite fillers, I’ve traded them out this time for some fun brown beans! They keep the smooth texture of the black beans, but bring in some beautiful Autumn color.

Fall Leaves Sensory Bin

This sensory bin is a super fun and simple way to practice the “L Blends” skill with your kiddos!

To play –

  1. Students take turns picking leaves out of the sensory bin.
  2. Once they’ve picked a card, students decide the beginning blend or word that matches the image.
  3. Depending on which recording sheet you choose for them to use, students then color the leaf with the correct blend or word.

If you’d like to try out sensory bins with your kiddos in centers this year, I’d suggest starting off by introducing them during Small Group instruction! This was always my favorite way to introduce something that might take a little extra practice for my students because it gave me plenty of time to model the process.

L Blends Sort

If your students (or you) still aren’t quite ready for a sensory bin in the classroom, this set also makes a simple L Blend sort!

Set up for this center is simple!

  1. Cut out the leaf cards and leaf bag titles.
  2. Students sort the leaf cards under the correct L Blend titles.
  3. Depending on which recording sheet you choose for them to use, students then color the leaf with the correct blend or word.
